Tunisia, the world’s fourth top destination for golfers, is planning on initiatives bound to push it even further up the ranking and make it the top destination for 6 million European golfers.
Golfing represents an important source of income for the Northern African country. At an international conference held in Tunis, the Minister of Tourism Mr. Khelil Laajimi stressed the importance this sport has for the country’s economy. Tunisia is planning on doubling golf courses to 20 by the year 2020.
Peter Walton, President of International Association of Golf Tour Operators (IAGTO) commented that the country has many assets to achieve this goal.
