EU, NGOs engaged in climate talks in Bonn

Despite the summer holiday season, more than 2000 officials and representatives are in Bonn for informal climate talks. Several meetings at political level this summer have provided a basis to build upon, including stronger support for the position that global temperatures must rise by no more than two degrees above pre-industrial levels.

The informal talks are taking place from 10 August to 14 August. The Swedish Presidency of the European Union will give a joint press conference in Bonn with the European Commission and the incoming Spanish Presidency. The press conference will be held on Friday 14 August at 14.15 and will be webcast on the UNFCCC website.
